Black currant and saffron open with a tart, spiced edge — enough contrast to keep the rose from reading as one-note before it even arrives.
The Rose Takes Over Once the top notes fade, rose moves in and stays there, rendered warm rather than powdery, closer to a real flower than a cosmetic accord.
Amber and Patchouli Underneath Patchouli and amber round out the base, giving the rose a woody, slightly smoky floor to rest on instead of letting it float away thin.
Best suited to cooler weather — the saffron-and-amber combination reads noticeably heavier in summer heat than it does on a fall evening.
