Lattafa Mayar Perfume - A sweet powerful and captivating scent !

Lattafa Mayar EDP Product Review

A Sweet Escape: First Impressions of Mayar

Oh! Mayar is so sweet. Do you know those strong feminine scents that are addictingly sweet? That scent that when you walk past someone, and the whiff of their perfume alone makes you turn around in curiosity?  You should add Mayar EDT by Lattafa to your list!

The fragrance unveils with an intoxicatingly sweet lychee burst, evoking the lush juiciness of ripe fruits, interwoven with the vibrant tang of sun-ripened raspberries. It has something of the citrus family that I can’t quite put my finger on. I read some reviews of grapefruit, but I can’t confirm that’s just it. It’s too tarty to me to be grapefruit.

After about an hour when the initial bitter/tangy feelings of this scent subdue, a little musk peaks its head out to join the party with a hint of floral although it is not too noticeable. The scent is there, and its sillage leaves that double take wake with every movement and every room entered.

This scent is extremely powerful yet can work incredibly well for a summer fragrance in the heat. Its power is somehow refreshing which is rarer in summer daytime fragrances. Lattafa found a way to pull it off. If you want to be noticed this summer, this should become your go-to summer scent.

Perfect Moments: Discovering When to Wear Mayar EDP

Lattafa Mayar is the perfect summer daytime fragrance. What makes this scent a unique summer perfume is its performance. Unlike the usual light fresh summer scent, this summer scent is powerful. This scent is powerfully sweet yet not offensive, making it surprisingly suitable even for more formal settings. The ideal setting for this perfume is a day roaming around town swiping that plastic card shopping in the town.

Unveiling the Power of Mayar: Performance Like No Other

As you can tell by now, the performance of this perfume is earth-shattering. It has an intense sillage in the best kind of ways. It’s that scent that you can’t get out of your mind because when you get a whiff of it, it just won’t go away.

The longevity of this perfume is excellent. In case you haven’t noticed yet, although I am a guy, I wore this for you so I can give you my honest review. Even after I showered, 8 hours after the first sprays of this perfume, my wife was concerned I was with another woman because you could still smell this perfume on me. After the shower and 8 hours, the perfume was a very intimate scent that can only be smelled when within 6 inches, but before I hopped in the shower, it performed excellently for all 8 hours.

Simplicity in Symphony: The Clear-Cut Notes of Mayar

For all you fragrance collectors like me, let's jump into the technicalities and the specifics of it.

First things first, this is a combination of fruity, sweet, and fresh. Unlike most fresh scents, this one is overpowered by the sweetness giving it the ability to perform powerfully.

Lattafa’s website lists the fragrance notes as follows:

  • The scent family is Amber.
  • The top notes are raspberry, litchi, and black currant.
  • The middle notes are rose, magnolia, and benzoin.
  • The base notes are amber and patchouli.

This review as you see by me wearing this women's fragrance is from personal experience on my skin so other notes will come out based on my skin’s oils. Let me share with you what I got.

This scent opens with a very sweet fruity scent profile. Lychee and raspberry are the true front runners on this perfume. There are sparks of subtle citrus almost like my wife’s fruit salad that has lychee, lychee juice, and just a squirt of lime juice. The citrus is not so noticeable, but it balances incredibly well with the sweetness of the other notes.

As the fragrance settles, it unfolds like a vibrant, youthful bouquet of flowers, with the peony's intricate profile enhancing the citrus notes, evoking the zesty citrus freshness of a mid-season peony bloom.

The dry down of this scent was very nice. I felt mostly velvety warm musk come through towards the end. I would agree with other reviewers that this could use some wood to bring some complexity to the olfactory journey.

The lack of complexity is a plus if you know how to layer well. I would suggest to any advanced fragrance lover to consider layering this perfume with something woody.

Echoes of Luxury: Comparing Mayar to Iconic Fragrances

This perfume closely resembles Angel Nova by Thierry Mugler, particularly in its robust sillage and sweet profile. The price difference is staggering, but the performance and smell are very comparable to each other.

Art in Glass: Exploring the Elegant Design of Mayar's Bottle

Just like all of Lattafa's Perfumes, they surpass all expectations with the design of this perfume. It is truly a work of art. Starting at the cap, it is heavy and feels pleasant in the hand. The prominent color is a rose gold metal cap with a thin blue top plastic lining, like an elegant crown. The cap fits perfectly and securely around the bottle, enhancing its overall elegance. The glass is clear giving you a true visual of the pinkish perfume liquid contained in the bottle.

With this bottle, no detail is left unturned. On the lower end of the bottle, there is an elegant strip of the same rose gold from the top and a cap with details about the perfume on the circumference. Finally, on the bottom of the bottle, there is a Lattafa stamp or sticker to confirm its origins.

Voices of the Crowd: Public Praise and Honest Feedback for Mayar

For starters, my 3, almost 4-year-old niece loves this perfume. I sprayed a sticky note and she wore it all day. That was cute.

But what are non-three-year-olds saying?

On Fragrantica, this perfume is rated 4.25 out of 5 based on 507 reviews.
